You are longing for the village midwife.
The one who knows your name, your fears, your hopes. Who comes to your home. Who stays through the night and does not leave until your baby is in your arms and your family is whole.
Sacred Circle Birth Services brings that kind of care to families across Chicagoland.
You want to labor in your own bedroom, in your own light, surrounded by the people you love. You want someone who has been beside you for months. Someone who already knows your fears, your hopes, the sound of your voice. The one who will catch your baby.
You are not looking for a provider. You are looking for a midwife. There is a difference.
This is the kind of birth women have always longed for. And it is possible.
The midwife you choose matters.
I am Shelli Mullins, a Registered Nurse and Certified Professional Midwife. I have attended more than 400 home births over eight years, and I run an herbal farm in Elburn, Illinois, where I grow and cultivate the plants and medicines I use in my practice.
I came to midwifery because I believe birth is sacred. Not in a soft or abstract way. In a bone-deep, this-moment-matters, nothing-will-ever-be-the-same way.
When you invite me into your birth, I bring everything I know: the clinical training, the years of experience, the herbal medicine, and a deep reverence for what is unfolding in that room.
